This is what democracy looks like, day 9

No sign of protests letting up at the Capitol, and every day new provisions in Governor Walker's budget bill come to light. Yesterday everyone was talking about the severe cuts to Badger Care, which is a health care plan for low-income families. Today people were furious about a provision that would allow the sale -- without a bidding process -- of state-owned power plants to private companies or individuals. Plenty to get worked up about.

A stranger asked me today, "Do you think we have a chance of winning this thing?"

And I replied, "Of course! I wouldn't be here if I didn't."

I'm really tired tonight so I'm not going to write much, but here are some photos from today.

If you don't know who Bob LaFollette was, you really should look him up.

A videographer checking his phone. He told me he was from Fox News; I don't know if he noticed the "Faux News" sign behind him.

Signs are taped up all over the Capitol...

And "union thugs" are roaming the streets

The Raging Grannies of Madison rehearse for their performance

And finally, the upside of all this is that we're welcoming many new Democrats :-)
