This year's "Making a Difference" photograph

Those of you who have been following the ol' blog for a while might remember the "Making a Difference" assignment I photographed around this time last year. The idea was to take a photograph that helped someone in the community, and I hoped at the time it would become an annual event.

This year I hadn't sent a press release to the newspaper yet, but the opportunity to "Make a Difference" presented itself anyway. The local library director contacted me last week about doing a series of photographs for the library's capital campaign. Community leaders are hoping to raise millions of dollars to fund a much-needed addition to the library, and these photographs will be used on fund-raising materials. (By the way, the Dwight Foster Public Library is one of our family's favorite hangouts -- check it out if you're in town! How many libraries have a cozy fireplace -- or three or four or five?!?)
